Seeking a French language immersion program?
Our intensive French courses are suitable for learners from complete beginners to advanced students.
The nature of our French language immersion courses facilitates intensive initial learning or ongoing
improvement in French.
On arrival on our intensive French courses, participants are tested and placed in a group corresponding
to their level, to enable them to progress at their own speed.
Participants continue to improve systematically in all fields of written and oral French.
Theme-based language workshops promote faster progress in a specific field.

General public/ minimum age 16

Our French language immersion courses include 26 lessons, each 45 min, weekly:
- 18 courses in groups of corresponding level
- 8 courses in theme workshops
Self-study at the University Multimedia Resource Centre

Our intensive French courses may be started every Monday, all year round, at all levels except
beginners.
Complete beginner courses start on the following dates in 2010 :
- 4 January, 1 February, 1 March, 29 March, 26 April, 31 Mai, 28 June, 12 July, 2 August,
16 August, 6 September, 4 October, 2 November, 29 November 2010. 3 January 2011.
There will be no lessons on the following bank holidays :
- 1 January, 5 April, 13 May, 24 May, 14 July (cultural activities), 1 November, 11 November.
Bank holidays are not refunded.

Themed workshops
All year round :
- Oral communication
- Written communication
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Civilization
- Preparation to DELF/DALF (according to exams calendar)
In the summer (other dates on request for groups) :
- Preparation for university studies and cultural environment giving access to normal higher
education courses. B1 level required.
- Economy, litterature, art history, medical French, Legal French, Hotel
and Tourist industry French, other specialties on request. B1 level required.

If a participant has fulfilled attendance requirements, a certificate signed jointly by
CAVILAM and Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, along with a detailed
evaluation of his ability in French, will be delivered at the end of the course.

During French courses, candidates can sit for:
- The DELF and DALF national exams
- The TCF, TCF/DAP, and TEF level tests
Where the courses take place :
CAVILAM - Vichy

2010 : from 1 to 11 weeks : 260 € per week
- Quarterly : 12 consecutive weeks : 2808 € (each additional week : 234 €)
- Semi-annual : 24 consecutive weeks : 4992 €
It is possible to take a one-week holiday during this period, upon request
(each additional week: 208 €)
- Annual : 36 consecutive weeks : 6552 €
It is possible to take a two-week holiday during this period, upon request
(each additional week: 182 €)
