The Examen Civique
Since January 1, 2026, the examen civique has been mandatory for any first-time application for:
• A multi-year residence permit
• A resident card
• French naturalization
The examen civique is a multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ) taken on a computer.
It consists of 40 questions covering:
• The principles and values of the Republic
• The rights and obligations applicable in France
• The functioning of institutions
• Key historical, cultural, and geographical references
• Everyday life situations in French society
To pass the exam, you must obtain at least 32 correct answers out of 40.
The results will be available in your personal account.
Registration takes place in two steps:
• Pre-registration is done on the website: https://test-civique.fr/inscription
• Once pre-registration is completed, contact us directly to find out the exam dates.

We organize 4 sessions per month:
• Monday late afternoons
• Thursday mornings
